Ideas and thoughts on E Learning

Today, the pandemic has brought forth that e-Learning is the need of the world. In this, the digital era, many sectors, departments, industry, regions, and countries are following the e-Learning concept for education, training and evaluation purposes. In my opinion, e-Learning is not just an electronic transfer of content; it is a different way of presenting and teaching content to interested learners. It is a medium of transferring knowledge, not content and syllabus. E-Learning is not just limited to content alone, it goes beyond that. To understand the impact of e-learning, let us take an example of a movie. If you give the script of a movie or a novel to someone and ask him/her questions based on them, 99% of the people will not be able to give answers to all the questions. However, if the same novel or script is converted into a movie, the same people will be able to answer 99% of the questions. The content, context and story are all the same, but the results vary. Adventures of Educational Learning

The idea of adventure or fun in learning can be difficult to understand for many. This is because we generally have a notion that learning and entertainment are two poles apart. But that is not the truth. They both can overlap with one another and indeed bring out the best outcome in learners. Not convinced? Well, you need to have a second thought! Do you really think a monotonous way of learning would be productive? Surely, you might not agree. This is because tedious, repetitive learning makes the process dull and inefficient. Besides that, we are sure you would agree that today’s children are too smart to be confined into the traditional learning methodology. They need to be taught in innovative ways that let them grasp concepts with full understanding. The traditional, mundane teaching approach can make the children’s learning process a bit dull and boring. It indeed makes them unengaged and unmotivated to learn. This is why fun and adventure in learning is necessary to make ch...

Cool Cat Teacher's Blog

Would teachers, busy as they are, also benefit from blogging? Should every teacher engage in blogging and build her/his own teacher-centred blog? Absolutely! Moreover, here is the  why  part: Teachers can Share their successful projects, ideas, resources, etc. Think of those brief, on-the-go encounters with fellow teachers by a microwave or coffee machine. Don’t they often turn into helpful “how-to” sessions, where we exchange our best teaching practices, lesson ideas, or classroom management strategies? Expand that “kitchen space” and reach out to thousands of teachers worldwide. Blogging will enable you to share 24/7/365! Blended Learning

Brain development is at its peak in the first 5years of developing age.   This pandemic should not hamper the learning of the next generation citizens, so we need to encourage the home school learning activities as a must for all parents and teachers. Blended learning aims to develop the socio-emotional connect in the learners during these difficult times through play way and learning by doing activities. Schools are promoting activities with Parent & Child so that there are supervision and support, there are moments of learning and togetherness. Blended learning facilitates holistic development. To understand it better, blended learning is an approach to education that combines online educational materials and opportunities for interaction online with traditional place-based classroom methods. It requires the physical presence of both teacher and student, with some elements of student control over time, place, path, or pace. Blended learning is not just for one group of lear...

A Difference

If you desire to make a difference in the world, you must be different from the world.” Elaine S. Dalton Create a difference... Change a Life. We all desire for change in our lives but we fail to create a difference.   It is never I who can create a difference but together we can create a difference. I can initiate a process, motivate others, lead with an example but the difference is visible when many are following the path set. Even a small effort creates a world of difference, nothing goes in vain. Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it because that act will make it significant." Never forget that we rise by lifting others. Helping others and making a difference in the world is what will help to make the world a better place by improving people’s lives. One person at a time, one day at a time, and one project at a time, you can make a difference that will leave a lasting impact on the world. But to succeed in making a differen...

Bud the Teacher

New technologies are continuing to make their way into our classrooms. It is evident that this is transforming how we design the learning space, the role of technology, the role of the learners and also the other  centrepiece  of education, ‘educators’. My recent experience of online discussions shows that the changing role of the educator in technology-enhanced learning is becoming a very popular topic.  What is interesting is that on many occasions educators are blamed for not adapting and incorporating technology into their teaching.  What I haven’t seen is anyone talking about how the role of the educator has altered. In every single discussion, educators have talked about what needs to be done to support educators to use technology better in the classroom, but no one has discussed what has changed. I think it is very appropriate to mention Dr  Jessel’s  point  on  this topic. Jessel (2012) suggests that “Innovation arising from new technolo...

Akash's Thoughts on Technology in Classroom

Learning could be said to be permanent when individuals learn in environments similar to real-life situations or when they learn by actual application and experience. Today, it is evident that both activities that lead to learning by actual application and experiencing in instructional processes and learning processes associated with real-life situations can be organized effectively with the support of instructional technologies. In this respect, it is seen that these principles in the learning process mentioned and the reflections of instructional technologies onto educational environments are in interaction. The reason is that instructional technologies provoke interests and stimulate learning; that they encourage students to study; that they help connect the new information with the old knowledge; that they associate the lesson subject with the real-life experiences of the student; that they allow students to reach and evaluate the necessary information; that they meet the expectati...
